Nth Finite Difference = Leading Coefficient * N!

We started by reviewing how to generate the equation and a sketch of the graph of polynomials in factored form.

We then explored the connection between the nth finite difference of a degree n polynomial and the leading coefficient. Groups were asked to calculate the degree, the nth finite difference and to state the leading coefficient for a linear, quadratic, cubic and quartic equation.

Students were then asked to put there equations with degree, leading coefficient and nth finite difference.

And we then made the following conclusion
